About Me

I’m a freelance writer and editor with twenty years’ experience in publishing. After graduating from the University of Kansas, I moved to New York City, where I worked as an editor with publishers like HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Prentice Hall, and Macmillan.
Since 1993, I’ve been a freelancer. Telling stories is what I do best. Sometimes my tales are fiction. Sometimes I tell the story of a teacher who’s gifted with special-needs children. I write about fascinating places, interesting people, and organizations whose services I believe in.
Copyediting and proofreading for publishing houses fill the rest of my time. The English language is endlessly complex and fascinating, and I enjoy making it the best it can be.
Currently I live in the Kansas City area with my husband, daughter, and a sometimes incorrigible beagle mutt named Eloise.
